About the Role

We are seeking a commercially astute and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of high-value roofing and cladding packages across London.

In this dual-capability role, you will take full ownership of the commercial lifecycle—from pre-construction procurement and robust contract negotiation through to final accounts. As a senior member of the team, you will protect business margins, mitigate contractual risk, and play a strategic role in expanding our footprint in the London commercial market.

Key Responsibilities

* Financial Management: Oversee all project costs, prepare accurate monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), manage cash flow forecasting, and optimize project profitability.

* Contract Administration: Manage JCT and NEC subcontracts, ensuring strict compliance, managing variations, and mitigating commercial risks.

* Procurement & Tendering: Lead the procurement of sub-contractors and materials, analyzing commercial bids to secure competitive terms.

* Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for main contractors and clients, leading negotiations for final accounts, variations, and valuations.

* Team Leadership: Mentor and support assistant/junior quantity surveyors, fostering a high-performance commercial culture.

Requirements & Qualifications

* Industry Experience: A proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager specifically within the roofing, cladding, building envelope, or specialist sub-contracting sectors.

* Project Delivery: Demonstrated success managing packages ranging from £500k to £5m+.

* Contractual Knowledge: Deep expertise in JCT and NEC contract suites, with strong dispute resolution and negotiation skills.

* Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable (RICS accreditation is a plus).

* Location: Based within commutable distance of Central London and willing to visit live project sites across the city.

What We Offer

* Highly competitive base salary (£75k - £90k basic)

* Travel allowance /company car option
