Contract Senior Civil Engineer – London

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Contract Rate: £40–£50 per hour

Contract Type: Contract

We are currently looking for an experienced Contract Senior Civil Engineer to join a busy engineering consultancy in London, offering hybrid working and a competitive hourly rate.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in residential infrastructure design, with experience delivering drainage and highways schemes from initial feasibility through to detailed design and technical approvals.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver civil engineering designs for residential and mixed-use developments.

Design foul and surface water drainage systems, including SuDS.

Undertake highways design, including access roads, junctions, roundabouts and estate roads.

Prepare levels strategies, earthworks designs and cut-and-fill assessments.

Produce and review detailed engineering drawings and drainage calculations.

Manage technical approvals, including S104, S185, S38 and S278 agreements.

Liaise with local authorities, water companies and external consultants.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

Key Requirements

Previous experience working within a UK civil engineering consultancy.

Strong residential infrastructure, drainage and highways design experience.

Proficiency in either Site 3D, Civil 3D and Causeway Flow.

Experience delivering projects from feasibility and planning through to detailed design.

Good understanding of relevant UK design standards and technical approval processes.

Ability to work independently and manage project deadlines.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

You must live local to London
