Job description

Commercial Manager - Drylining & Interiors

£70,000 per annum plus £5,000 car allowance
Macclesfield, Cheshire
Full-time, Permanent

A well-delivered construction project starts long before the drylining goes up. It starts with accurate costs, clear agreements and someone who understands how decisions on paper affect the work on site.

That’s where you come in.

An established specialist contractor is looking for a Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial side of its drylining, interiors and passive fire protection projects.

Founded in 2013, the business works with main contractors, local authorities and private clients. Its services cover ceilings and partitions, plastering, drylining, steel framing systems (SFS), rendering, glazed partitioning and fire stopping.

For the Commercial Manager joining the team, this offers varied specialist packages and the opportunity to make a clear difference to how projects are priced, managed and delivered.

The role

As Commercial Manager, you’ll bring commercial control to projects from the early pricing stages through to final account. You’ll work closely with the delivery team, keeping costs visible, dealing with changes promptly and maintaining clear communication with clients and subcontractors.

Your responsibilities will include:

*

Overseeing budgets, project costs and commercial reporting.

*

Managing valuations, variations and final accounts.

*

Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks.

*

Managing subcontract procurement and accounts.

*

Supporting tenders, pricing and cost planning.

The person

You may already be a Commercial Manager, or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take on broader responsibility.

Experience in drylining, ceilings and partitions, interior systems or specialist subcontracting would be particularly relevant. A background in fit-out or passive fire protection would also be useful.

You’ll need sound commercial judgement, confidence handling contract discussions and a practical understanding of construction projects.

This Commercial Manager position would suit someone who wants to take ownership of the numbers while staying close to the work. You’ll join a business that places real value on workmanship, avoiding defects and building lasting client relationships.
