Civil Engineer – Drainage & Infrastructure

Cardiff 

£50,000 – £60,000

A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Civil Engineer to join its Cardiff team, with a focus on drainage and infrastructure design.

The role would suit an engineer with strong experience in surface water, foul drainage and SuDS, who is looking to take on greater technical responsibility while working across a varied project portfolio.

The Role

You will be involved in the design and delivery of drainage and infrastructure schemes, working closely with clients, authorities and the wider project team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Designing surface water, foul drainage and SuDS solutions for a range of developments.
Producing detailed drainage and infrastructure designs from concept through to delivery.
Working on S104, S106 and other statutory approval processes.
Supporting SAB approvals and flood risk-related requirements.
Using software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ICM.
Working to relevant industry standards including Sewers for Adoption and DMRB.
Providing technical guidance to junior engineers and supporting the development of the wider team.
Managing multiple projects, prioritising workloads and ensuring deadlines are met.
Liaising with clients, developers, local authorities and statutory organisations.
Contributing to technical reports, design reviews and project documentation.
Helping develop long-term client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the civil engineering team.About You

7+ years' experience in civil engineering, with a strong drainage/infrastructure background.
Experience across surface water, foul drainage and/or infrastructure design.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
Strong knowledge of SuDS, flood risk and drainage design principles.
Experience with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD and Civil 3D; ICM experience advantageous.
Understanding of S104, S106 and SAB processes.
Experience working with developers, clients and statutory authorities.
Ideally, Chartered or working towards professional accreditation through ICE or CIWEM.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
The ability to manage several projects while working both independently and collaboratively.
An interest in supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers.What's on Offer
