Senior Quantity Surveyor - Construction - Slough - Up to £85,000 DOE 
  
About the company
  
Due to continued business growth and a strong pipeline of projects across the UK, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established design-and-build construction specialist with an extensive European presence.
  
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial and contractual aspects of major construction and civil engineering projects.
  
The successful candidate will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, overseeing cost control, procurement, contract administration, commercial reporting and financial management, while working closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors.
  
We’re looking for someone who is confident operating across NEC and JCT contracts, comfortable having commercial conversations and negotiations, and able to identify and manage risk effectively.

Take ownership of the quantity surveying and commercial function from pre-contract through to final account and handover
Administer and manage JCT and NEC contracts
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts and commercial calculations
Serve contractual notices in accordance with contract requirements and company procedures
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts
Conduct valuations, variations and final account settlements
Prepare accurate and timely monthly CVR reports, commercial risk reports and cost forecasts
Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients and other key stakeholders
Provide clear commercial reporting and advice to senior management
Support procurement and subcontract management activities
Ensure commercial performance is aligned with project objectives and contractual requirements
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
Strong experience managing JCT contracts, with knowledge of NEC
Strong commercial and contractual understanding
Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
Confident managing variations, valuations, payments and final accounts
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
MRICS preferred, or actively working towards chartership
Willingness to travel to UK project sites
Positive, proactive approach with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders About Us
