Graduate Transport Planner - Cambridge

Location: Cambridge
Salary: Flexible depending on experience + benefits package

Emtech Recruitment are working with a growing medium-sized engineering consultancy specialising in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Environmental services. They are currently looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join their expanding team based in Cambridge.

The consultancy works on a diverse range of projects across the UK, including large-scale residential developments, schools, industrial schemes, retail and commercial developments.

The Role

As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will work alongside experienced Transport Planning professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of projects and responsibilities, including:

Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
Undertaking junction modelling and analysis
Producing junction and highway layouts, with AutoCAD experience desirable
Carrying out technical analysis using software such as Junctions 11, ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
Supporting projects from initial feasibility through to planning and delivery
Working across a variety of residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use developments
Communicating with clients and other project stakeholders
Attending site visits and supporting the wider project team

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject
An interest in developing a career within Transport Planning
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
A willingness to learn and develop technically
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as site visits will be required

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established consultancy with a growing Transport Planning team. You will work closely with experienced Directors and senior members of the team, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of projects while developing your technical and consultancy skills.

There is also the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own projects as your experience develops.
