Job description

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major civil engineering programme of works in West Cumbria. This full‑time, site‑based role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key part in a long‑term, complex infrastructure development.

Salary
Upto £75,000 per annum plus benefits. Contract rates will be considered.

Full‑time, site‑based in Seascale, Cumbria.

Client Overview
Our client is a well‑established international construction and engineering business delivering significant infrastructure programmes across the UK. The organisation specialises in designing, constructing, and commissioning large‑scale civil projects that form part of the UK’s critical infrastructure network.

Responsibilities

Provide commercial expertise and support across complex civil engineering packages.
Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including change control, payment applications and final accounts.
Support cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting activities.
Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, ensuring compliance with governance and client frameworks.
Lead subcontract administration, including supplier engagement and performance monitoring.
Contribute to procurement processes and tender evaluation.
Produce accurate financial reports and maintain robust cost control across project phases.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent commercial alignment.Must‑have Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contract management.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.Nice‑to‑have Skills

Chartered status (e.g. MRICS or equivalent).
Experience in regulated or high‑hazard sectors.
Familiarity with UK public sector procurement processes.Benefits
